Welcoming Dr Steve Edgar, as our new Symphony Programme Board Chair
The Symphony Programme Board, recently welcomed newly elected Chair – Dr Steve Edgar. Steve was elected after Dr Berge Balian stepped down from the role in October this year, to spend more time in his other roles as GP Partner at Crewkerne Health Centre and Interim Medical Director for Symphony Healthcare Services.
A big thank you to Berge, for helping to successfully develop and chair the Programme Board since its creation in April 2015.
Steve, a GP Partner from Millbrook Surgery in Castle Cary has been actively involved with the Symphony Programme from the very first meeting and has taken a lead role in helping to create, develop and plan the roll out of our new models of care.
The Symphony Programme Board has a central role within our south Somerset vanguard site; bringing together senior representatives from key healthcare organisations across south Somerset and working together to create a more joined up, effective healthcare service for our communities.
The Programme Board will continue to monitor and review the progress being made across new models of care; evaluating feedback and impact to influence the continuous refinement of the model, as well as taking a crucial role in the future planning and development of the Accountable Care Organisation model, for Somerset and the link to the Sustainability and Transformation Plan (STP).
